NL El tren y la península (De Trein en het Schiereiland) is een meeslepende reis die ons meeneemt langs de geplande route van het megaspoorproject bekend als de “Maya-trein”, en zich verdiept in de ideologische en territoriale strijd die wordt gevoerd op het voorouderlijke land van het Mayavolk.
Deze vertoning maakt deel uit van de fondsenwervingscampagne voor de Meso-Amerikaanse Karavaan voor Klimaat en Leven, die zal plaatsvinden van 12 oktober tot 10 november 2025. De karavaan reist dan van Zuid-Mexico naar Brazilië voor de ANTICOP 2025. Het doel is om de verhalen en eisen van gemeenschappen die hun land verdedigen en strijden voor klimaatrechtvaardigheid te versterken, en een ruimte te creëren voor dialoog, solidariteit en het opbouwen van alternatieven. Het is een mobilisatie van het volk, voor het volk, die in het heden handelt om onze toekomsten te beschermen.
Na de vertoning is er een Q&A met dianx (Debt for Climate), voor een verder gesprek over de Karavaan, haar doelen, organisatie, deelname en alle andere vragen die je hebt.

EN El tren y la península (The Train and the Peninsula) is an immersive journey that takes us along the planned route of the mega railway project known as the “Maya Train” and delves into the ideological and territorial struggles being waged in the ancestral land of the Maya people.
This screening comes as part of the fundraising campaign for the Mesoamerican Caravan for Climate and Life, which will make place from October 12 to November 10, 2025, in a journey from southern Mexico to Brazil, for the ANTICOP 2025. The goal is to amplify the stories and demands of communities defending their land and fighting for environmental justice, creating a space for dialogue, solidarity and building alternatives. It is a mobilization from the people for the people, acting in the present to defend our Futures.
After the screening there will be a Q&A with dianx (Debt for Climate), to have a further conversation about the Caravan, its goals, organization, participation, and whatever questions come to mind. Join us in this immersive and pertinent journey to the south.
